Bahaa Abu Hussein is from Umm al-Fahm, lives in Jerusalem and documents what he observes and feels in his daily life.
One of the reasons why he chose the medium of photography is because he wants to make visible the complex reality and current situation of Palestinian society. His goal is to revive the nature of photography in people’s daily lives. It is his constant effort and attempt to identify social challenges.
The series of works in this project were created with a broad view. What is shown is a confrontation with the grievances of Palestinian citizens and people in general. The process of the work is to visit places in Palestine that are worth exploring, that are complex from a socio-political point of view. The pictures were taken in places like: Shuafat refugee camp, Al-Isawiya, Umm al-Fahm, Bethlehem.
And the writings are drawn from my inner feelings about pressing the button on the camera and keeping a snapshot of time through the light and hope.
